What to Expect

On Your First Visit

Your first visit will be one hour long. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for a lot of movement. We will go through your health history and list of concerns. There may be a movement screen to determine what movements recreate the discomfort. On the table I will perform muscle strength testing in order to identify weaknesses. During the treatment portion I will use firm pressure and deep stretches to correct the findings. At the end of the treatment I will demonstrate simple exercises and at home stretches. Finally we will have a discussion about follow up frequency based on your needs.

Conditions I Treat

My style of Osteopathy involves treating the physical body.  Many patients also notice that physiological and psychological symptoms improve as the physical body improves.

I happily treat low back, neck, and shoulder pain daily. Other joints may include (but are not limited to) ankle, wrist, jaw, toes, knees, cranium, inner ear, ribs and coccyx. Osteoarthritis, incontinence, vertigo, constipation, period pain, hernias and reflux are examples of physiological symptoms that can improve with the treatment of the surrounding physical structures.

If you have questions about whether your concerns could be addressed with osteopathy treatment, feel free to reach out to me.

Style of Treatment

I tend to use a firm hands-on approach. You'll also experience long holds in deep stretches, traction and firm pressure on knots combined with deep breathing. I often end the treatment session with an active portion in which the patient performs simple exercises and stretches that they can then do at home.

Booking online is the best and most preferred method for both Initial and Follow up appointments. Texting or emailing is second best. Lastly calling directly will likely go to voicemail as I am often with a patient.
